Euro Garages' Newtown site wins top industry award

Euro Garages' Newtown site in Skelmersdale has scooped the Best Tobacco Merchandising Award at the Forecourt Trader of the Year Awards in London.

Dedicated to recognising and rewarding the hard work of petrol retailers nationwide, the awards highlight those businesses which have displayed high standards of professionalism in an increasingly competitive sector.

Martin Ashcroft (center), financial director at Euro Garages, collected the award from category sponsors Imperial Tobacco (right) on behalf of Newtown's site manager Ellen Bebb.

The glittering 70s themed evening – hosted by DJ Tony Blackburn and held at the Park Lane Hilton – was attended by 700 guests from the petrol retailing industry.

Newtown, which underwent a major redevelopment programme in June, is one of the first UK forecourts to adopt Imperial Tobacco's brand new Ultima tobacco display unit in-store.

Mohsin Issa, director at Euro Garages said: "This is a fantastic achievement for us, and a testament to our relationship with Imperial Tobacco and the dedication of our site team.
