Runcorn gets a taste of Seattle with new Starbucks

26 August 2010

Runcorn's first ever Starbucks coffee outlet will open today (26 August) as part of a multi-million petrol forecourt scheme.

Euro Garages, which is based in Blackburn, built the BP-branded petrol filling station at the Bridge Retail Park on Thomas Jones Way earlier this year.

Now, the firm has expanded facilities at the site with a new, purpose-built Starbucks, creating 10 new jobs.

Mohammed Tayab, area manager for Euro Garages, said the development was an asset for the local community, as well as visitors and commuters to the town.

He said: "We've invested significantly in our Runcorn scheme to create a real flagship location and provide customers with the best possible forecourt facilities.

"We'd like to thank everyone in the area who has supported our plans and hope the new Starbucks provides a valuable asset to the local community."

The Runcorn forecourt site already includes a twenty-four hour SPAR convenience store.

The new opening is part of a major deal between Euro Garages and Starbucks to open 30 new outlets across the country, creating 600 jobs. So far this year, the company has opened Starbucks outlets in North Wales (Deeside), Shrewsbury and Blackburn.

Euro Garages is currently ranked as one of the UK's fastest growing privately-owned companies with locations across the North West and Midlands.
